My painting
Welcome to my website. My name is Natalja Voronkova, a self-taught artist born in 1972. Since 2006, I’ve been living and working in the charming town of Franeker in Friesland, the Netherlands. It is here, in my studio, that I give shape to my passion for visual art—a space where emotions, ideas, and abstract worlds come to life.
My artistic journey began from a deep inner urge to create. Without a formal art education, I have spent years exploring materials, techniques, and art movements, always searching for new ways to express the invisible through form and color. My work is strongly influenced by abstract expressionism, avant-garde design, and the tension between chaos and order. I find inspiration in nature, the human psyche, music, textures, dreams, and everyday details.
I work with a wide variety of media: acrylics, oil paints, pastels, ink, textiles, plastics, and digital art. Sometimes my work is spontaneous and intuitive, with bold brushstrokes or layered mixed media. At other times, I build it up more deliberately, layer by layer, searching for harmony and contrast. My style moves between abstraction and figuration, stillness and energy.
Every piece I create is a journey—a dialogue with the unknown. I invite the viewer to travel with me—not to uncover a fixed meaning, but to remain open to what the image evokes. I believe that art doesn't need to explain itself; it may confuse, comfort, provoke, or inspire reflection.
My artwork and art cards are also available for purchase through this site.
Thank you for your interest in my work. Feel free to explore the gallery and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or simply wish to share your thoughts.

Natalja
